In the northern suburb of Guangzhou, Conghua hot spring
is always famous for its special soda hot spring and regarded as ”°the
first hot spring in South China”±. Guangdong hot spring hotel is located
in the very place with long-running spring, evergreen mountain, and
wins the ever-spring.
In the beginning of 1950s, under the direction of senior Party leaders
of South China Substation such as Ye Jianying, Fangfang,
Taozhu and etc., the Second Provincial Reception Hotel (renamed as
”°Guangdong Hot Spring Hotel”± in 1962 ) was built in this beautiful
place, and No. 1 Songyuan high standard villa was special for Chairman
Mao. It was the first nation-run hotel in Guangdong and also one of
the winter sanatoriums for national leaders in the early time, so
it shares the same fame with Beidaihe River and Lushan Mountain. After
the liberation, the hotel has already received many Party and National
Leaders such as Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, Zhude, Deng Xiaoping, Ye Jianying,
Dong Biwu, Chenyi, Yang Shangkun, Hu Yaobang, Hua Guofeng and etc.,
and foreign leaders such as the former American president Nixon, Vietnam
Chairman Ho Chi Minh, Cambodia King infante and etc., so it won the
name ---”°The Winter Zhong Nan Hai”±.
Guangdong hot spring hotel grows and develops with the new China.
In this half century, it grows from the reception hotel for Central
Party leaders to the present garden-like modern hotel, owe to the
care from the provincial committee and provincial leaders in government.
The development is the wisdom and blood of our predecessors and also
the fruit of the dilig ent
staff in the hotel. Many employees worked for it in all theirs lives.
All of these are the glamorous history of the hotel. Especially in
this ten years, under the reforming policy, the hotel thoroughly raised
the level of the hotel and changed a new face, with the elegant villa,
comfortable luxurious guest room, good restaurant with complete function,
top grade equipment, ethereal garden, many entertainment health facility
and natural oxygen bar such as ”°convalescent paradise”± and ”°valley
green with stone white”±.

the glamorous 50-year history, there were many heroes and celebrities
both domestic and abroad. After the half century, we come to the new
